Summary
Market Managers have the opportunity to showcase your ability to lead a team, provide amazing customer service and implement innovative ideas. The Market Manager is responsible for the daily operation of an individual store to achieve budgeted revenue goals and monitoring expenses. We hire hardworking, trustworthy, and energetic individuals who work with the store teammates and Corporate Management to drive sales, ensure high levels of customer service, solve problems and achieve employee development goals while advancing their own skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Manage store performance to maximize store profitability
  • Maintain store security including inventory control, cash handling, and equipment maintenance
  • Lead, supervise and schedule store employees
  • Interview job applicants and conduct employee performance reviews
  • Ensure compliance with all company, state and federal policies and laws by working with Human Resources
  • Ensure all Kurtz Bros policies are being followed by team members and complete disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Provide input to production regarding product innovation 
  • Effectively manage territory to ensure a thorough and consistent understanding of sales opportunities, competitive knowledge and project activities within that territory.  
  • Assign and work with Product Specialists to ensure store and territory goals are met and developed in a timely manner
  • Hiring, scheduling and training of employees with regards to product knowledge, utilizing products to fill customer’s needs, and generating sales
  • Ensure that each store has clear staffing roles and assignments
  • Maintain accuracy in inventory tracking and documentation and ensure appropriate in-store inventory levels to meet customer needs and meet goals
  • Enforce and maintain the overall store appearance, merchandise display, and on-site equipment, reporting and scheduling maintenance/repairs as needed
  • Develop annual image and capital plan for necessary budget approval
  • Follow all Kurtz Brothers, Inc. safety guidelines and complete incident reports immediately when required
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
  • Must be available to work weekends during the busy season (April - August)
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience with retail or industry sales management experience 
  • Experience in landscaping/construction industry preferred
Knowledge/Skills
  • Emotionally resilient and able to drive projects effectively for excellence against demanding targets in a complex, multi-disciplined environment
  • Customer oriented and able to operate effectively in a high pressure environment and pressing customer deadlines
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customer
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Enthusiastic, with a drive for results
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in office IT suite (excel, word and PowerPoint) and to quickly develop a working knowledge of NetSuite and Descartes with ability to operate the KB reconcile, dispatch, quote, and price check systems
  • Ability to learn new programs/software as needed
  • Ability to run front end loader, skid steer, and other equipment as necessary
  • Creativity in providing customer solutions
  • Ability to quickly become knowledgeable regarding the composition and application of the product line 
  • Exposure to loud noises, hot/cold temperatures, dust, and other environmental factors

Responsible for ~2-10 store employees depending on season

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and could be subjected to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment could be unusually loud at times (protection will be provided).

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
